NEWS — College football scores, NCAA top 25 rankings, schedule, games today: Georgia, Auburn battle SEC foes
NCAA football scores, live updates and highlights from the teams in action during Week 12 of the 2020 season
The stakes are ratcheting up this week in college football as teams jockey for positioning in the first batch of College Football Playoff rankings that will be released Tuesday. The headliner is №3 Ohio State’s game with №9 Indiana, but several other teams with playoff aspirations will be in action as well.
While №4 Clemson’s game at Florida State was postponed hours before kickoff, №1 Alabama, №6 Florida, №7 Cincinnati, №8 BYU, №10 Wisconsin and №11 Oregon will all be in action before the evening wave of games even arrives. It would likely take a significant upset at the top for someone other than the current top-four in the polls — Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Clemson — to crack the debut top four in the CFP rankings.
But it’s been a crazy year, and with a ton of ranked teams in action Saturday, you can bet the mayhem will continue with highlight plays, upsets and tight finishes. JT Daniels is making his Georgia debut tonight as the Bulldogs take on the Bulldogs. It’s been a struggle for Georgia at quarterback (Mississippi State, too, for that matter) and it’ll be interesting to see how healthy Daniels looks, since the rehab from last year’s ACL tear is presumably what’s kept him from seeing the field so far this year.

It wasn’t the blowout win Cincinnati might have wanted to make some huge statement to the CFP committee. But beating this UCF team on the road shows how solid these Bearcats are. Not many teams can hold the Knights under 400 yards, but Cincinnati did today.

Wildcat woes
Kentucky has been inside Alabama’s 5-yard-line twice in the first half and has just three points to show for it. A bad snap on a FG attempt early in the second quarter just sailed over the holder’s head and set Alabama up in nice field position leading 7–3.

Kentucky got down to the Alabama goal-line before a holding penalty set the Wildcats back and forced a field goal. Still, UK is outgaining the Crimson Tide 121–79 so far, and the Wildcats are driving again.

The Ducks put the ball on the ground and return it for a score, tying the score at 14–14 after the Bruins finally got on the board with a Demetric Felton touchdown run. Sloppy start in Eugene in a game that has not played out as expected.

Northwestern fumble leads to Wisconsin TD
The Wildcats were about to go up two touchdowns in the first quarter of their game with Wisconsin, but a fumble at the goal line resulted in a takeaway for the Badgers. Wisconsin then drove 99 yards and tied it up with a Graham Mertz touchdown pass. A 14-point swing in Evanston.

Tyler Shough has a couple of touchdowns early for Oregon, who leads UCLA 14–0. Ducks have punched the ball out and recovered twice, as the Bruins can’t get out of their own way in what’s already a mismatch with starting quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the lineup.

№3 Ohio State survives №9 Indiana
The Buckeyes tried on multiple occasions to give this one away. Ultimately, Indiana had a chance to tie it in the final minute but couldn’t go the length of the field in under a minute to tie the game. 42–35 Ohio State.
